VMI Studio Podcast: Thresholds, Virtual Reality, Art, and… Real Estate

We were recently asked to join presenters Michele and Will to appear on the TDMB Presents… technology podcast. Our co-founder, Fergus Byrne, went along for the recording, and had a really interesting discussion about virtual reality in property.

It was also a great opportunity to talk about the exhibition we’ve been working on with artist Mat Collishaw, Thresholds, which is taking place at Somerset House until 11th June 2017.

Click below to listen to the podcast in its entirety, in which we discuss not only the exhibition and our work creating the virtual reality simulation, but the role of VR in real estate, and how we see the technology progressing in coming years.

If the podcast has left you wanting to know more about the Thresholds exhibition, check out the video below, in which the exhibition is featured on BBC Click.

The whole episode of ‘50 Shades of Spray’ in which the above segment features can also be viewed on iPlayer.

We have also written extensively about Thresholds and the artist Mat Collishaw who created it on our blog.

You can learn more about the context of the original photography exhibition upon which Thresholds is based, as well as a look at Mat Collishaw’s other work and career, the role of virtual reality and art, and the cultural history of photography.

We were also fortunate enough to be able to visit Mat Collishaw in his home for an in-depth interview about the exhibition and the themes and context of his work. You can read the interview in full here.
